Bath Time Buttons

It's WA DAY in Perth, Australia today.
I hope those of you in Western Australia are enjoying your long weekend.
This is my day to catch up on those unfinished projects around the house and catch up with my scrapbooking blog.

I am currently working on my daughter's album for her 21st birthday. Unfortunately like all things, I decided to start it a couple of months ago. I have been working around the clock to complete it but with all the party planning I didn't get it finished to give to her on her birthday. I have decided to mix a bit of pocket scrapbooking with 12x12 layouts. I have found I am able to achieve a great deal and get her photo's into an album.

This layout was inspired by a google search for bath time layouts. I have used the Bo Bunny Primrose Papers. I love the colours in these papers as they fit into the baby/girl theme very well.
To add some dimension to the page, I found a packet of buttons of various pink shades and sizes and placed them across the page to resemble bubbles.
My daughter enjoyed her bath time and she loved taking a bath in the kitchen sink. I was living in a small country town and it would get very cold, so the kitchen sink was convenient and I was able to use the kitchen table to dry her off and dress her while the slow combustion stove was going. Our bathroom was a little cold as it was on the outside of the main house.
I really love looking back at old photo's and the memories they evoke.

Our Little Girl

Hello again my friends. I hope this day finds you happy and healthy and loving life.
I wanted to share with you one of my latest layouts. It's a bit cute. It features my fur baby.
Her name is Koko and she is a pure bread Chihuahua.
My husband and I adore her, so when I seen this paper range and I just had to scrapbook her.
The papers used in this layout are from Bo Bunny. They are from the Primrose range.
So pretty. It made it extremely hard to choose the papers to use.

I used the chipboard embellishments to add some details to the layout. The butterfly created wonderful wings on one of the photo's where Koko was wearing fairy wings. To add colour to these photo's, I used my copic marker and coloured Koko's collar, to make the photo's pop on the layout.

I then used some clear bling to create the butterfly trails. Once again I used my copic marker to colour the bling to match the colour on the photo's.

The chipboard banner was a perfect fit for a title to this layout. It reads Our Little Girl.

Koko is just adorable and turns heads wherever she goes. We love her to bits and she is spoilt rotten.

Until next time, take care and I hope you find a little inspiration to scrap your fur babies

Homespun Happiness

Welcome to my latest blog post. It has been awhile. May is such a busy time for me, with a month of birthdays and Mother's Day thrown in there as well. Making it extremely hard to get time to create.
I love being on the design team for Made with Memories. The challenge is that I need to get my layouts in on time, so therefore I have to make the time to create.
This layout was designed using the Simple Stories Homespun Paper Range.
I wanted to step out of my comfort zone and use a few different techniques and mediums. To create the background I used a script stencil and dylusions spray.
I then used black bazill to frame my pattern squares and make them pop.

I then found a page map I liked and started layering my squares in a pattern I liked. Making my photo the focal point. I love black and white photo's. They are great to use when you have a lot of patterns.

Once I had the placement, I then took a photo to refer back to and started to adhere in place.

I love these new #hashtag and arrow designs from Dusty Attic.

The heart is from the sticker sheet and to give it some dimension , I raised it up on some chipboard and then sanded the edges.
I used some washi tape and hessian to help build the layers.
I am very happy with the finished layout and even happier that I can show off my gorgeous family.
